Privacy

In plain language: what we collect, why, who sees it, where it’s stored, and how to change it.

What we collect

For the person who registers: name, email, mobile number, date of birth, food preference and membership type.
For your household: your address in Canada and your family’s roots in Saurashtra (district, taluka, village).
For each family member you add: name, relationship, date of birth, food preference and, for adults, an optional email.
If you list a business: the business details you enter.
When you sign in: the time of your last sign-in and a record of account actions, to keep your account safe.

To keep one up-to-date record for each SLPS family.
To send you account emails, such as setting or resetting your password.
To plan events (for example food preferences) and share community news. You can opt out of news and WhatsApp messages at any time.

You and the adults in your household who have their own sign-in can see your family record. Only the primary member can change it.
Named SLPS committee admins can see member records to run the samaj.
Business listings are public because you choose to list them. Member names, emails and family details are never shown publicly.
We never sell your information. Matrimonial details are not stored on this website — that service is run offline by our coordinator.

Your information is stored on a secure server used only by SLPS Canada, with nightly backups. Passwords are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form — nobody, including the committee, can read them.
We use an email service to send account emails, and our contact system to send community news.
The exact hosting location will be confirmed by the committee before launch.

The primary member can update the family record from My account.
To correct something you can’t change yourself, or to delete your family’s record, email slps.canada1@gmail.com. Deleting a household removes its members and their business listings.
